Hello friends, it's nice to see you. It's been a long time. You're just as lovely as you used to...oops, oh no, my bad, that sounded too much like the ole Twittster hisself! We can't have that. I'll be right back, I have to go cleanse my musical palette, just play the tune from "Jeopardy" in your head until I get back please, that should help you "ferget."...Okay, I am back, after listening to "O Mio Babbino Caro," by Leontyne Price, then Kiri te Kanawa's version and finished by listening to the beautiful rendition by Montserrat Caballe'. As an east-central Georgia backwoods redneck in good standing, I can affirm and attest that "O Mio Babbino Caro," is the most beautiful piece of music in this world, TO ME. You are free to disagree but I care not a whit. It is my "go to" brain cleaner if I am ever exposed to a Conway Twitty song, even by accident and for even the briefest of moments, I know that listening to that wonderful, wonderful music will disinfect the brain after a Twitty song exposure but similarly, it will remove chicken doodie from your good shoes.

Merry Christmas Conway Twitty

I hope Saturday was well with you, mine was enjoyable indeed. Steven came from the ministry (NBIC) to help me get the house clean, and then get some groceries in for our big Christmas dinner here at my house today. Bryan Sparks and family, she whose name must not be used on Facebook, my brother Randall and his sweet wife Lisa, and a couple more to round it out. Steven is joining us, but he cannot eat anything because he is half-way through a seven day fast. So, to keep him from breaking his fast, he plans to fix himself two big "to-go" plates and put them in my freezer until his fast ends in a few days.

It sure smells good!
It sure smells good!

I was ragging Steven about choosing this time for a week-long fast, and he reminded me that was not his choosing, but was God's doings. Yep, even wise old curmudgeons need correcting now and then. I must admit, The Lord has never moved me to fast, and I am being truthful when I say that I have been listening. I ain't heard "word one," from Him about it. I do look forward to our first Christmas dinner here at this house. I informed our guests that they are free to bring their doggies.

My buddy, Josh Waldbart...(nope, I never heard the name Waldbart until I met Josh and his family, from the hills of North Carolina, near Hendersonville, and they are a fine family indeed)...is comin early in the morning to help me. I am weak and pale yet, and will be glad of his help and fellowship. I will take "purty pitchers," of the table of food after the fact, lest hoards of "hongry," GF&FL members pounce upon us ready to eat. Now, if you show up, we will make a place for you. We love y'all, and bless each of you who have helped us through these days of leanness, and changed them into days of plenty. You are a wonderful bunch of people, and this old man and his boyz owe y'all more thank yous than one old man and two young dogs dogs can begin to express.
