GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS

Well, I must say that I enjoyed the snow this weekend. I have always liked snow, but as a Peebles likes company, we do not want company to stay long, and we are of the same mind about snow. Glad to see it come and gladder to see it go. It is cold again this morning, sort of "old school" cold. There have been many years of late when we had little cold weather, unlike years ago when it got cold and stayed cold until spring and maybe beyond. Fish ponds froze over quite often. The robins appeared on time, you were freezing cold while sitting in the stands watching your high school football team play. When the county fair arrived in October, it heralded cold evenings. If you had a greens patch that followed on the heels of your summer garden which had "give up the ghost" and died, you would, in your mind, hurry your mustard and turnips along because they could not bear up under a real cold snap. Not too very long ago, I laughed at folks who wore heavy coats and clothes on cold days, huddled into themselves almost, gripping a cup of coffee, and shivering. I wore no coat nor jacket, just long sleeve shirts with the sleeves rolled up. Folks asked me, "you are not cold?" I would reply, "yeah, but I like it." "Lord, please forgive mine idiocy which thou dast not given unto me, and the foolish tongue I once nurtured thus to show mine ignernce for all to see, amen." If you did not understand that faux King James sentence I just penned, it was me owning up to my gormlessness. <--- Look it up. A faceless, soulless, Social Security minion is supposed to call me at 9:47 to discuss my application for benefits A while back when the lady called to setup a telephone appointment for me, she said, "that will be at 9:45 on February 2,"..."oops, it just changed, your appointment will now be at 9:47." I said, "hang up before it changes again," and she did. I am even now putting on my "big boy" britches and the "Full Armor of God," girding my loins, and making sure my powder is dry. You know, a thought just smacked me hard, and it is this, "it would be wonderful to get to Heaven and find that God has some of my writings on His refrigerator door." That'd be high praise indeed. By the way, I go tomorrow morning to Dr. Deepak Kapoor in Augusta for another cardiac catheter procedure and placement of my third stent. Please pray that the procedure goes well and that it makes a difference in my well being. With my unusual vascular anatomy, it is not the routine procedure that it would be for most folks, you know, for "earthlings." I want to thank each of you who have been and are praying for me as well as helping me, it is amazing indeed. Thank you for those things, and thank you for caring for me and my boyz. You have made a difference.
