A REMEMBERAMBLE for 11/24/25

Good Monday morning my friends. We are coming up soon upon Thanksgiving. I am going to do as usual, and join Bryan Sparks and family at his parents home for Thanksgiving dinner. I will fix a couple of dishes, but not go all out, because there will be good things to eat and plenty of them. Oh, the post the other day when I listed all of the many foods I would prepare for Thanksgiving? Uhm, I assumed you knew I was joshing you.

My lower back, nor pocketbook could handle that much food. I am still not working and have no income yet, as Social Security is still investigating my application as it related to my stolen identity and others having filed under my name and social security number. For several years. My application for SNAP (food stamps) was denied because they gave me three different telephone appointments, but since it was during the government shutdown, they never called me because Emanuel DFCS offices were closed. I got the letter this week that informed me that my application was denied because I failed to keep the three different appointments. Yep, they were closed and did not call, and they blamed me. I am not complaining, in fact I must laugh begrudgingly at the comic nature of it all. But, comedy does not pay bills, and a new month is rapidly approaching with a new month's worth of bills, I have not the moolah, dinero, bucks, dough, bread, or whatever other slang terms there are, for the "green!" But I betcha a dollar to a donut, I have a great Thanksgiving Day and dinner! I have not let the "joy thieves" steal my joy, no sirree!!

We had a very good weekend, with Saturday being mostly a rest day, I like those days, and I am getter better and better at resting. In fact I could soon win a gold medal in resting, as amateur of course, but still, that is a lofty goal. Yesterday, I rode with a friend out on some of our local dirt roads to see some old buildings, interesting sites and some huge live oaks.

As we were out looking at those fabulous live oaks, a friend, whose family owns the land there and other acreages in the area, drove up and we had a great visit right there in the dirt road, talking bs and old tales. It was a pleasant and pleasurable day indeed.

We all walked over and looked down the old well, to check the ground water level, and while doing that, all peering down the well, our friend told us that it was said that at the bottom of that well was a cavern big enough to turn a tractor trailer around in. He said it was also said that the well just up the road there also had a large cavern at the bottom.

This is a picture I took as we looked down into the well. I have taken pictures of wells before, and it always makes me fear dropping my phone down the well. By the way, this well is very, very old, and that may not be the original curbing, who knows, but I know it was built before WWII, and the house dates from the late 1800s, and that curbing is as good as the day those bricks were laid. I have never seen a well curb in as good condition as that one. the well is original to the house, but I think the curbing was replaced at a later date, judging by the condition and the looks of the

bricks.

We laughed and fellowshipped, and made this a great Sunday indeed. I wound up the day by capturing some good images of the old house across the road beneath the spreading live oak that tries to shade it all. Thank you for your faithfulness here.
