A REMEMBERAMBLE January 6, 2025

Good morning, my friends, I hope this missive finds you well. The new year has grown its wings and taken up the mantle from the old year, which has faded fast, and is as filled with vitality as any new year has before it. If 2026 was a racehorse, it could beat old Molly, and Ten Brooks hands down. Why do I expect this year to go so quickly? Because they all do now! I wish our older years were as long as those we knew as children, those years were excruciatingly slow. I have reached my golden years where things shift a bit, like many of you, I am now capable of hurting myself in my sleep. A place where having to grunt and make noises when I try to stand, as well as when I sit down. The exclamations were once simply to accompany getting up. I must now make semi-agony sounds with my throat to signal my hard-of-hearing body that we are about stand...or, well, let's say "try to stand." Now, I am like my daddy, having to turn the radio off in my truck so I can see better. Like him, when I try using eye drops, I tilt my head back, open my mouth like a baby starling and squinch my eyes as tight-shut as I can. I ask folks what they said before they finish saying it. So often now, if I am in public with a friend, and see someone who calls me by name and asks how I am, I say I well, and after they move on, my friend will ask who that was, and I answer, "I don't know." Let me remind you that I go back to see Dr. Abraham Lyn today and I guess he will schedule my third and last cardiac catheter procedure and get that third stent placed to open that last artery. I am not looking forward to it but will be glad it was done after it is over. I have to go now, forgive the abbreviated rememberamble, have a blessed day and do a kindness for someone today.
