Gosh this week has the zoomies! Speaking of zoomies, I love to see dogs with the zoomies, it is one of the most entertaining and funny things nature gives us. Now, as for this image of me that I chose for this morning's petite-tome, it is one you may have never seen. It is from our Gathering held a few years ago at the beautiful and historic Tattnall Campground. That sure was a pleasant Gathering, if you were there you know. That is the location where I went on the Walk to Emmaus, years ago, and that holy place will always be a part of my life that is unmatched in its spirituality. "Dayspring walk to Emmaus #64, table of John...De Colores!!" That walk changed my life, as it had done for many others and continues to today. If Donald and JoAnna had not gone on the walk, there would never have been a New Beginnings in Christ, and what a loss that would have been. So, yes, "DE COLORES!!" Amen. Now, let us leap frog back to that first and second line in that first paragraph, about the pleasure of watching dogs run with the zoomies, reminded me of another pleasant animal-related activity, well, actually it is an "inactivity," and that is the wonder of watching a small flock of bantam chickens just being bantams. It is one of the greatest but simple pleasures to be had. Place a half dozen guineas out there also, and you have the makings of a wonderful interlude of peace and quiet...until something sparks the guinea's "pot racking," then the peace is shattered. Even that high anxiety-level of activity is fun too, at least for me. I will wind this up this morning with an observation of our post-modern life that is a great departure from life as we lived it a few decades ago. It is a simple observation, and that is the fact that no one is outside anymore. Time was you could drive across our great rural expanses and see countless folks outside doing things or not doing things, but they were doing or not doing it all outdoors. Now you can drive all day as you galivant across our great outdoors, and not see a single person outside, young or old. We talk about the younger generation and how they are recluses in their homes playing video games, yet we are not likely seen outside either. When the day came that "inside" was now heated and cooled nicely, and electronic media vied for our attention, we came inside just as the kids did. Did any of you take part in any April Fools Day pranks? Other than on here, I did not. Oh, lest I forget to mention my speaking last night at NBIC, it was a good evening. We laughed a lot and were serious as needed, and I enjoyed it as I always have. Let's fold this rememberamble up, put it in the envelope, and sit back and relax for a while. Thank you Jesus.
