Good morning, friends. We boyz three welcome thee. Since we get together here right often, seems to me some of y'all could bring breakfast. I mean don't go to any trouble, but I do love fried side meat, bacon, fresh and smoked sausage, grits, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, biscuits and toast, sausage gravy, and maybe a few more assorted good things, of course cane syrup and real sweet butter. To keep it simple, any of you coming here from north of us, stop at Neighbors Express (I think it changed hands and is Friendly Gus now) and load up for me, if you are coming from south of Garfield, get some to go plates from the breakfast buffet at Shoney's in Vidalia. If they don't do the breakfast buffet on weekdays, just stop at a Parker's or whatever and get a heap of whatever they have, I am not a picky eater. It is funny to me that as a boy, I was the pickiest eater ever, I did not eat greens, most vegetables, any dark meat chicken, no fruit, there were only a handful of foods I liked. Well, let me say this, "I dang sure got over it!" Today there really no commo0n foods that I will not eat. If somebody is ordering pizza and ask what I want on it, I say, "I don't care, there is not a single thing they could put on a pizza that I won't eat." Now, don't take this to a ridiculous end, because surely there ingredients I would not want, but of all the ingredients that are considered pizza toppings, I like them all. The same with a burger, when asked what I want on a burger, I say nothing or anything suits me. I will eat and enjoy it. I ate boiled okra (okree) when I was in the Bulloch County Hospital a couple of weeks ago. I ate salt-free hospital turnips once before when hospitalized for my heart several years ago. I will now eat turnips, spinach, mustard greens but not collards...yet. I love cabbage and brussels sprouts. Some of you actually were there to witness me eating rutabagas a few years ago when we had the Gathering at the Tattnall Campground. I said I would eat rutabagas if the members attending would donate to our Westside Church, and y'all did and I did. I now love cooking and eating rutabagas. There are a few foods that I still do not eat, such as boiled chitlins, beef tripe, chicken gizzards, mullet gizzards, or the white mullet roe. I ate them some as a boy, but no way would eat white roe now. I like chicken livers and hearts fried but no gizzards.

Oh, I will eat carrot cake now and then, but it is not a delicious cake at all, and why eat carrot cake when there is lemon, chocolate, and a host of other nice and tasty cakes. Ever-who (sic, jwp) made the first carrot cake should have been whipped with a sack of Sims Stores brand, baby carrots while getting a tattoo of Carrot Top on stage with Conway Twitty at the Cincinnati Knights of Columbus Lodge. Well, this is as good a place to end this as any, but please know we have fun here and love it when you join us. God bless you, and we thank you, and who are we? ..... we boyz three, babee conway, lil merle, & me
