A REMEMBERAMBLE for February 23, 2026
A REMEMBERAMBLE for February 23, 2026

We have been given a brand new week, what shall we do with it? I guess we will waste some of it, and we all waste time in different ways, then we will use some of it being productive, again in our own way. I hope we will serve God in this coming week, after all, He bestowed it upon us. God asks so very little of us, and we will generally give Him the least of our time. We all plan to make it up to Him someday, some week, but not this one. Yes, soon we shall be able give Him more of our time and more of ourselves. Soon, oh yes, soon. I only have these things I must do, I just have to do a few more things first, and pray He understands. I know He will, because he is a good God. "The cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon"...woe unto us! I know this is a serious topic, in fact there is no other topic that trumps it, but I will interject a bit of humor here, to lighten the mood and make my point. It was midway through a church's revival week, and the guest evangelist was scoring points for the Lord in a mighty way! When he had the congregation on the edge of their pews, and the Spirit swept over and came among them, he jumped down from the dais, and walked down the center aisle, and pointed at first one, then another, asking, "DO YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN?" Each one he asked answered, "oh yes, I want to go to Heaven!" He stopped as his gaze fell upon a man named John (now you may recall John from when he was a young boy, back then everyone called him Little Johnny, and he was in a lot of jokes) looking John in the eye, he asked him, "YOU, DO YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN?" John said, "yeah, but I didn't know y'all was tryin' to get up a busload to go tonight!" That is us, yes, that is us, indeed. I thought just now about the quote, "there are none so blind as those who will not see," and reminded me of an article I once read. It was a true story of a man who suffered a brain injury, and was left totally blind. Nothing too unusual in that, many have suffered such injuries. But his case was unique, and some of you will refuse to believe this and I get it, it seems improbable, especially if you do not understand how our brains process what we see and what to do with it. Yes, the man was totally blind, but he went where he pleased, needed no dog or assistance, would only cross a street when no traffic was coming, he greeted people he knew when he "saw them." How was this possible, you ask. The man's eyes were not injured, but the part of his brain that showed his brain what the eyes were seeing had been damaged. His eyes would show his brain what they were seeing, but he could not see it. Yes, some of you are saying, "no way!" But it was true, his eyes and the parts of his brain that processed his vision were in good working order, his brain saw everything, but it could no longer share what it saw, with him. If you have read the books penned by Dr, Oliver Sacks, you will discover that the brain, the mind, and our consciousness can impart some seemingly fantastic anomalies upon those with illnesses or accidents that make the idea of a man who could see but was unaware of what he saw.

I hope your weekend was good, ours was. God bless you each and everyone one, and know how much I appreciate your faithfulness here.
