It is once more Monday, and like all of the recent ones, it is a dry one. Our forecasts say some rain later in the week, but they said that last week but it was all frittered away before we got any. I would so love to sit under my carport watching it rain all day. We say the words about our concern for the farmers, and many pray daily asking God for rain for them and for us. But, you must be a farmer to understand the import (no, I did not mean to use the word "importance") of it all. "Import" speaks of the importance, but it includes the weight, the heaviness of it also, how it bears onto the person as a burden. A thousand men and women have work to do, and do it at better than a parity, because of a farmer, but time upon time, the farmer shares none of it. Let us pray for rain, and pray that our Loving Father will bless them with rain and a profit therefrom. As most of you know, I am a hermit, recluse, and all around grumpy curmudgeon with little social life. But Saturday afternoon, I attended a birthday party at my sister's house near Norristown. It was for her dogs, Bessie and Greta, and she had invited a small group of fine folks, so it was a good time.

Time was, I would have laughed and scoffed at the idea of a dog birthday party, but not now, and you know the two reasons for that great change in my life! Yes, of course, babee Conway and lil Merle. The food was very good, and the best of all was the salad. I love good salads more than most fat men, and this was a new one on me. Now, y'all know I don't get out much, so things y'all have known of, or eaten for a long time, are new to me. The salad was a new one on me. With my poor eyesight, it looked like a typical green salad with baby spinach leaves, red onion, feta cheese crumbles and diced tomatoes. After a couple of bites I was thinking that I needed to ask Connie what kind of tomatoes they were, because they great, but then I realized they were diced strawberries! That was a great salad!

I know this is an abbreviated rememberamble, but I will end there for today. Thank you for your faithfulness here, and babee Conway and lil Merle say hey.
